The facility won a trophon®2 device through the 2020 IIPW Giveback, Giveaway sweepstakes, and was excited to place it in the Women’s Health Department.

Advent Health Manchester, located in Manchester, Kentucky, is part of Advent Health’s multi-state network of nearly 50 hospitals and hundreds of care sites. The facility won a trophon®2 device through the 2020 IIPW Giveback, Giveaway sweepstakes, and was excited to place it in the Women’s Health Department. The department completes approximately five ultrasound procedures per week, and a total of 20 per month.

Patient and Staff Safety

Latasha Williams, RN is the department’s infection preventionist, and also oversees employee health and quality control.

“Our facility entered the contest because we were in a great need for an HLD device. We want to ensure the process of disinfecting our probes is the safest available for our patients and employees. I had done research on how we could, and this process is just that. Most of our facilities had already been using trophon devices, and it was highly recommended. I never saw one negative comment. We feel very blessed to have won!”
